Our Story

We are Troy and Maria. Our story began in Baton Rouge in 1991; married the following year, we have since raised three devoted children and welcomed grandchildren and new pursuits into our lives. With a background in hairdressing, we now dedicate ourselves to crafting unique pieces from sustainably sourced Louisiana hardwoods. Embracing a range of forms and scales, we honor the distinct character of each local tree, prolonging its life by transforming wood into enduring heirlooms. Every creation bears our careful attention and affection.

The name Middleson is a nod toward something deeper. As middle children, we’ve often felt overlooked—like a quiet tree that nonetheless shapes everything around it. Every decision we make is purposeful. Our journey hasn’t been ordinary, but we’ve stayed true to our values and committed to thoughtful, lasting work.
